Our Love Story
First Meet
4 May 2024
We met at our mutual friends' wedding, Zac was a groomsman and Savannah was a bridesmaid. We started talking when we went to explore the outdoors portion of the venue together (though we disagree who asked who to do that), then Zac asked her to dance when the floor opened up, and later Savannah caught the bouquet. By the end of the night, phone numbers were exchanged and we haven't stopped talking since.
First Date
15 May 2024
Our first PLANNED date was to go country swing dancing together, scheduled out by about a week for the Saturday two weeks after meeting. Halfway through that week though, as we were texting more and more, we both were getting impatient with how far out it was set and Zac asked if she wanted to meet up beforehand and fly his kite at the park. We got Costa Vida, then went over to the park where we ignored the obvious lack of wind and just sat on the grass and got to know each other. So it turns out our first date was really our second date!
Summer
Summer 2024
Shortly after becoming boyfriend/girlfriend, Zac had an internship in Tampa and Las Vegas. Thanks to modern day technology, distance and time zones didn't stop us from being together, as we racked up more than 100 hours of video call time over the summer. We split the long time apart by finding ways to still meet up: Savannah flew out to Washington for 4th of July at the Lake House, and we later met in the middle by both driving to St George for a long weekend of hiking and camping and NOT starting wildfires (RIP Zac's tent).
Proposal
3 November 2024
Savannah's roommate convinced her that they were going on a Roomie Picnic, and took her up the canyon. Zac had gone up with two more close friends beforehand and set up a scene with pictures of us, fairy lights, and pink neon lights saying "Z ♡ S" hanging from the trees. Savannah knew it was coming, since they had both custom designed the ring and he's suggested to get her nails done, but Zac had hinted that they'd have a "secret date" later that week, and her roommate had masterfully convinced her that they were going on a picnic in the cold November weather, so she was thouroghly surprised when it was Zac dropping a knee that perfect evening.
